Senior Data Engineer

Excellent opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer to join a growing technology consultancy delivering enterprise data and AI solutions across Ireland and the UK. This is a hybrid role with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies including Azure, Fabric, Synapse and Power BI.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory
• Develop and optimise ETL / ELT solutions across enterprise data environments
• Design and maintain data warehouse solutions including star schema models
• Build dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI, SSRS and Excel
• Implement data governance, cataloguing and compliance standards
• Manage deployments through Azure DevOps, GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
• Engage with stakeholders to provide technical guidance and best practice recommendations
• Support machine learning / AI initiatives through data preparation and modelling
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to successful project delivery

Key Skills:

• 5+ years’ experience in a Senior Data Engineering role
• Strong experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory
• Advanced SQL Server / T-SQL skills
• Strong background in ETL / ELT development and data warehousing
• Experience with Power BI and reporting tools
• Knowledge of Azure storage solutions
• Exposure to data governance tools such as Purview
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub and CI/CD processes
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills
• Experience leading teams or mentoring engineers beneficial
